James joins the BCL team as Planning Director. Having worked with James for many years we have always been impressed with his ability to strategise and lead project teams. We are very excited to have him as part of the team.
When not working James loves to take advantage of all that New Zealand has to offer. Whether it’s taking the family out for a day on the water, tramping in the Hollyford Valley or enjoying a break in the sun at St Heliers.

Our team is changing and we were very lucky to have Sarah Mundy join us last month. Sarah will be taking over from Louise in ensuring that you and your projects are being well attended.
Sarah has worked in surveying as well as tenancy and leaky building fields, she has a real passion for surveying and was a natural choice for the role.
Whilst welcoming Sarah we must also sadly farewell Louise who will be leaving her full time role to fulfil her long time aim of working in her church and community.
I am sure you will agree that working with Louise has been an absolute pleasure, and I know she will miss working with you, our clients and friends.

With many years experience in both private practise and Local Authority surveying to call on, Mike has an ability to see a unique path through the red tape to the outcome required.
Mike was born and bred in Tokoroa; a proud kiwi from Chinese gold mining stock. Mike loves to spend time with family and has two young kids that keep him busy. In any spare time he gets he heads south for a spot of pig hunting in the forests around Tokoroa.
Mike specialises in subdivisions and is currently enjoying a real strengthening in this sector.
As a Licensed Cadastral Surveyor Brian’s role involves dealing with a full range of survey projects, he has particularly strong knowledge of spatial compliance and removal of limitations surveys.
Brian cut his teeth surveying in the South Island and his experience in the high country utilising survey grade GPS has been well utilised during surveys on Great Barrier Island and other remote locations.
Brian is mad on the outdoors and coming from a mountaineering family enjoys nothing more than a day of back country skiing in the Southern Alps. He recently guided the Himalayan climbing legend Stephen Venables for a day “out the back” at Cardrona, an unforgettable experience.
Sarah Cammick (nee Reed) has been with BCL Surveyors since 2002. Her role as Senior CAD Draughtsperson involves undertaking CAD draughting for topographical, asbuilt, scheme plan and e-survey cadastral surveys.
Sarah’s background, at Land Information New Zealand, and extensive experience in private survey firms has given her a strong understanding of the survey industry and it’s unique draughting requirements.
Outside work Sarah enjoys running (as a member of the Auckland Joggers Club), triathlon and off road events, she also enjoys weekends away at her bach in sunny Matarangi on the Coromandel Peninsula.
As one of our two directors Tom has responsibility for the firm’s management and growth. Tom also personally manages his clients and their projects to ensure successful outcomes.
Tom has a wealth of experience surveying in the Auckland region and enjoys the challenges that development in this very diverse environment present.
Tom also has a strong interest in local politics that has recently culminated in his running for the Community Board in the Mt Eden / Albert ward. With an eye on the changes that the Super City will bring Tom is determined to increase his involvement at the community level to ensure great outcomes for this ward.
Louise Keppler has been with BCL Surveyors since January 2007. Her role as survey coordinator is to arrange estimates, follow up clients and architects, ensure that the details for each job are actioned and ultimately to provide the point of service within our company for you and your clients.
